Black Ops 7 is coming on November 14, and here, developer Treyarch has unveiled some details for the game’s Season 1 content after launch. This release is claimed to be the largest seasonal drop in the franchise’s history. Players will experience a new level of cinematic immersion thanks to brand new tech, which delivers an unprecedented look at power, tension, and speed of war on the PS4 or Xbox One. There is even more new content to hit all three modes of play in the Call of Duty universe.
When Does Black Ops 7 Season 1 Start?
An official release date has not been announced by Treyarch. But Season 1 would be expected to come back sometime between early and mid-December 2024. If we go by the shape of Black Ops 6’s release, then Season 1 will have gone live three weeks after the game launch – and on December 4 for Black Ops 7.
Seven New Multiplayer Maps Arriving in Season 1

Season 1 will enlarge the multiplayer by seven new battlefields. Every map has its own special flavor of gameplay and level design.
Classic Fan-Favorite Returns
Nuketown is first up on November 20, a few days after launch. This fan-favorite map gets a visual upgrade fitting with Black Ops 7’s updated graphics. The chaos of the original gameplay is unaltered, but features new visuals in this compact location.
Standoff and Meltdown make a return as remastered editions of these classic Black Ops 2 maps. They are the same maps as the originals with updated graphics and design.
Brand New Locations to Explore
In Fate, players head to a Menendez compound in Nicaragua. This map flashed on screen for just a moment in the trailer, but it looks like players can expect some tight gameplay.
Utopia takes place in a disused Guild base nestled within the Australian outback. Anticipate open spaces mingled with interior areas of combat.
Odysseus is an homage to the memorable Black Ops 2 campaign mission. This map brings back the mood and location fans know and love.
Yakei exports warfare to a setting in Japan. Early video indicates it will be similar in design to the popular Black Ops 2 map, Vertigo.
Season 1 New Weapons Cache
Season 1 brings seven new weapons added to your loadout. There have been three revealed already, with more on the way.
Maddox Assault Rifle
Damn, that’s the Black Ops 4 bullpup assault rifle. It comes with a high rate of fire with good handling. The Maddox shreds between medium distances to encourage pushing pace.
Crossbow Special Weapon
A high-precision single-shot weapon that launches explosive bolts. Since you have to reload it manually, accuracy is key. The crossbow provides silent kills and unique tactical options for players.
Ballistic Knife Equipment
This throwable melee weapon can be equipped in your lethal equipment slot. It delivers immediate close-range eliminations and is also recoverable after being tossed. The ballistic knife introduces a high-skill option for aggressive players.
Four additional weapons remain unannounced. Anticipate these announcements near the Season 1 release date.
More Zombies Content and New Maps

Zombies fans get a ton of new content throughout Season 1. The update sees the launch range of the Ashes of the Damned map expanded with three new experiences.
Astra Malorum: New Round-Based Experience
Featuring an all-new round-based map that challenges players with a unique Zombies adventure. According to Treyarch’s description, this is something special that offers new challenges and story developments. Look forward to new enemies, easter eggs, and secrets to unveil.
New to the Lineup: Two Survival Maps
Exit 115 and Zarya Cosmodrome give a more streamlined survival experience. These are maps cut out from Ashes of the Damned, developed into endless mode challenges. Both offer fast-paced wave-based action in tight spaces.
What Makes This Season Different?

Treyarch calls Season 1 the biggest seasonal update in Black Ops history. The volume of content reinforces this fact with seven new multiplayer maps, seven new weapons, and three Zombies experiences. That’s a lot bigger than the seasonal updates they normally release.
The developer will release detailed patch notes closer to release. These massive notes will bring you balance changes, bug fixes, and so much more that we haven’t revealed yet.
How to Prepare for Season 1
Gamers should aim to complete base game challenges and unlock weapons before Season 1 lands. That way, you don’t need to have anything previously to contribute and download new things. You may want to dive into all the launch maps just so you’re on solid ground in terms of how this whole thing works before seasonal content starts dropping.
