Marvel Rivals is an epic hero-based shooter all about a magnificent entourage of superheroes and their fierce enemies. The right decision is the key factor for success because there are 35 champions in the game, which are categorized into three roles (Duelists—DPS, Vanguards—Tanks, and Strategists—Supports).
Marvel Rivals is a tier list where we will decide the characters in S-tier (best) to D-tier (weakest), and we will analyze the best team compositions to get on top of the Season 1 meta.
S-Tier (Best in the Game)
Heroes belonging to S-Tier are actually excelling at nearly every moment, having the best abilities, being strong in terms of safety, and having the most impact on the game.

Storm (Duelist)
Storm is the current strongest Marvel Rivals hero by far, as she deals extremely high amounts of damage to the enemy and is also very mobile apart from being able to issue buffs to her team. With the recent buffs she has received, her ultimate projectile speed has been enhanced; thus, she has become a huge threat to her enemies. Although she can fly, she is most efficient on the ground, where she can use her abilities to help and even beef the buffs for her team the most effectively.
Mister Fantastic (Duelist)
This dual-purpose hybrid character, a whizz-bang of a hero, has a strong defense. This hero extends his body to launch his attack on the enemies, and with each ability, he manages to gain some additional health. Besides, he is good to be paired with Invisible Woman to redirect damage. He is a great choice as an off-tank, as his role allows him to be aggressive and helpful in the team composition.
Luna Snow (Strategist)
Luna Snow is an incredible support hero who possesses loads of healing, damage-boosting abilities, and crowd-control effects. A magical girl who can heal while inflicting damage, she is the best choice for both casual and competitive play.
Hela (Duelist)
As a powerful Goddess of Death, Hela is a dangerous marked DPS who is capable of immobilizing, moving to a different position, and bringing down the enemy very fast. Although she had a slight nerf in Season 1, she is still one of the top heroes because of her pro kit and high-precision damage.

Doctor Strange (Vanguard)
Doctor Strange is a tank with great utility. His team-wide teleport, shields, and crowd-control ultimate all together make him an indispensable part of the competitive team. Apart from this, his primary attack requires accuracy, but it is equipped with a powerful burst if used correctly.
Hawkeye (Duelist)
Hawkeye is the best sniper in Marvel Rivals, delivering maximum burst damage and one-shot kills of squishy targets. Justicar’s Piercing Arrow does extra damage when fully charged; this makes it one of the most relevant characters in the game for players with great aim.
Iron Man (Duelist)
The multiplayer with Iron Man is not easy at all; he can move well in an area and hide on the road with iron alien drops. A tough opponent is Iron Man. Moreover, Doctor Strange and The Mighty Thor have great synergy with Iron Man. Of course, the fact that Iron Man is a heavy dealer is also an outstanding characteristic.
One of the most slippery characters is Moon Knight with his quick dashes and high maneuverability with his blades. Also, his Moon Blade lets him deal damage to two or more enemies at once, and his Ultimate Ancient Power ability allows him to attack enemies entrenched behind walls.
A-Tier (Strong Picks, But Not Overpowered)
Although A-tier heroes are strong in a battle, they may still need the right team compositions or higher skill levels to be as good as S-tier.
Invisible Woman (Strategist)
The most adaptable support hero, Invisible Woman has a healing move, a shielding move, and a move that makes her team be invisible. Although she doesn’t heal as much as Luna Snow, she compensates with an outstanding team utility.
Thor (Vanguard)
Thor is a reliable tank that also possesses powerful damage abilities. His Thunderforce skills give him speed and allow him to throw Mjolnir and shock opponents, but he feels his kit is still not coordinated as well as the other tanks.
Winter Soldier (Duelist)
Winter Soldier is a close-range damage dealer and a combo expert who will eliminate his enemies with ease. If you first use his uppercut and continue with other attacks, you can kill the enemies before they react. However, he won’t do well if he is unable to hit his combos.
Black Panther (Duelist)
Black Panther is a high-mobility melee duelist with powerful execution moves. His King of Wakanda passive grants a heal, which doesn’t exactly make him a tank, but it is a good way to extend a fight.
Cloak & Dagger (Strategist)
Cloak & Dagger is a complex support hero with the ability to heal, debuff enemies, and make allies invisible. They are versatile enough to be able to play them as a tank or a healer.
Spider-Man (Duelist)
Spider-Man is a fast assassin who can quickly roam and ambush an enemy. His weaving and taking abilities grant him an escape and mobility as he completes his mission.

B-Tier (Situational Picks—Strong but Requires More Effort to Be Effective)
B-tier heroes have usage but are not nearly as sturdy or versatile as S- or A-tier characters.
Rocket Raccoon (Strategist) – This great healer has a Battle Rebirth Beacon (revives allies), but it is not enough for instantaneous healing.
Wolverine (Duelist)—He‘s good at sustainability and crowd control, but he can’t beat ranged heroes.
Squirrel Girl (Duelist) – The girl can stun her enemies and deal AoE damage, but the circle projectiles require good aim.
Peni Parker (Vanguard)—Lays mines and traps, then comes in more or less intuitive play but definitely not intuitive to other tanks with her.
The Punisher (Duelist)—A very simple hitscan DPS with an assault rifle and turrets that has some limitations in terms of mobility.
C-Tier (Weakest in the Meta—Needs Buffs or Strong Team Support)
Heroes that are of the C-tier level usually struggle against the meatier heroes and are often not as competent in their positions.
Scarlet Witch (Duelist) – Can her damage be a characteristic here? By the way, her stunning ability and crowd control are present, but with this, her damage becomes very uninteresting.
Captain America (Vanguard) – The mobility of this hero is something worth mentioning here, but the lack of the required damage output and utility for the tank role is evident.
D-Tier (Not Recommended—Weakest in the Game)
D-tier heroes offer little value in competitive matches.
Black Widow (Duelist) —She is not a mobile hero, and she deals less damage with her sniper rifle than Hawkeye; she has always been a very weak pick in the game.
