Want more Emeralds to call upon these godlike units? Get the newest Anime Last Stand Codes here.
If you’re playing Anime Last Stand, one thing should be clear to you: the only thing that matters is which units win the battles. New characters and balance changes have really shaken up the meta with Update 79. The following lists will put the top ranking units for December 2025 in a tier format.
I’ve tried dozens of units in Story, Infinite and Raid modes. You can then see which heroes are dominating the game, and which are a complete waste of your precious Emeralds.
Quick Meta Summary (December 2025)
| Tier | Best Units | Why They are the Best |
|---|---|---|
| S+ | Shinra, Ancient Vampire (Over Heaven), Karumi | Highest DPS, versatile across almost all modes |
| S | Pucci, Makima, Yoruichi | Hard hitting support/attack heroes |
| A | Irwin, Eisen, Mid | Average performance with clear specialties |
Key Takeaway: Top tier S+ units like Shinra and Ancient Vampire reign the meta with OP damage and support buffs.
How to Read the Meta (Update 79)
Update 79 introduced six new units that completely altered the landscape of team composition. Shinra was the best all-around general Godly unit, with several elemental passives straight out of placement.
The biggest shift? Support units got massive buffs. Irwin went from B-tier up to top meta support. Pucci boss everyone else in endgame with timestops and enemy debuffs.
Several older standoff favorites like Doo meanwhile also fell in the rankings. His timestop in particular hasn’t aged well compared to newer units built for consistency.
S+ Tier: The Meta Kings
These are the units that make up the current creature of competition. You should prioritize summoning them.
Shinra (Godly Rarity)
This convoluted one is a unit with several passives attached to various elements. He gives you some great options right from the get go. Rimuru is a late-game outscale but Shinra has more versatile board and faster setup.
Ancient Vampire (Over Heaven)
That can be played in any game mode. He is great at DPS-ing and offers the best Godly Leader Buff out there. Great for Story mode and Infinite mode.
Karumi (Secret Unit)
The highlight addition of Update 79. She comes in three different flavors: DPS (high dmg) Support (good buffs) Buffsquad (your team never played so well before). Each form has a strong timestop move.
S Tier: Elite Performers
Good investments, they will carry a team just fine.
Pucci
Timestop/Rewind Heavy support unit. Relatively weak in the earlier phase of a game but one of the best support in the late game. 600 to place (and is surprisingly good.)
Makima
Currently trying to change her luck, because bugs are ruining everything! Very expensive to fully upgrade. Great for late-game and infinite boards. Offers strong team support in damage and SPA shares.
Yoruichi
Crit shitting lightning DPS and High damage bullet unit. One of the more solid early-game DPS because of good ramp up. Scales well throughout to late game and gives continuous DPS.
A Tier: Reliable Workhorses
Decent performers to invest in if you don’t have S-tier options.
Irwin
Rose to become a top meta support due to recent buffs. Goes right there with the leading contenders. Fit well with buff team combos.
Eisen
He got A LOT stronger and can be counted as a “meta” overall unit. Considerable damage capabilities for PvE and other modes. Pairs well with DPS-focused teams.
Mid
A full AOE hemorrhage unit. His renewal negating power is in fact a good alternative to some older meta options. Excellent for boss fights.
What Makes a Unit “Meta”?

I review units on five key criteria:
- Damage Output – Raw DPS and scaling potential
- Cost Efficiency – The value that you get per Emerald spent
- Versatility – Performance for Story, Infinite and Raids
- Support Capabilities – Buffs, debuffs and team synergy
- Evolution Potential – Strength increase when they upgrade
S+ Ranked Units own four or more of these attributes. An A-tier could be really good at two or three, but not have as much all around.
Building the Ideal Team (2025 Meta)
Balance is everything. Even with 5 S+ units if you don’t have synergy you will lose.
Your Team Needs:
| Role | Recommended Units |
|---|---|
| Primary DPS | Shinra, Ancient Vampire |
| Support/Buffer | Pucci, Irwin |
| Hybrid Ground/Air | Yoruichi, Karumi |
| Utility/Crowd Control | Mid for hemorrhage |
| Economic Unit | Early-game farmer |
Pro Tip: Use Shinra, and then use Pucci for absolutely BROKEN timestop combos. The synergy adds 200%+ damage output.
Common Mistakes to Avoid
Don’t chase every Godly unit. Players have blown thousands of Emeralds trying to summon with no strategy.
Focus on one S+ DPS first. Then build support around it. An S+ that’s too low a level is going to be out-performed by a fully upgraded perfect technique A-tier unit.
Techniques matter more than rarity. Avatar and Overlord setups can transform an A-tier unit into S-tier play.
How Frequently Does the Tier List Get Updated?
New releases come every 4-6 weeks. In each update there is usually 3-6 new units and balance changes.
Update 79 (most recent) included Shinra and Karumi as well as four other people. Update 80 should be done mid-January 2025.
Balance patches are released weekly, balancing outperforming or underpowered units. And always keep an eye out for real-time meta changes in the official Discord.
F2P Players: Best Budget Units
You don’t have to use Godly units in order to win. And these standard options are shockingly effective:
| Unit | How to Get | Why It’s Good |
|---|---|---|
| Pucci | Banners with reasonable rates | Best late-game support |
| Irwin | Story mode unlock | Top meta support |
| Eisen | Low-cost summon | Heavy damage after buffs |
| Mid | Farmable from raids | Versatile utility |
Save your Emeralds for banner pity systems. Banner 1 is a guaranteed Mythic on the 80th pull. Banner 2 has better rates with Celestial pity on pull 60.

Final Verdict: Who Should You Pull?
If you’re starting from scratch, Shinra is your absolute target. His versatility gets you through the early Story, as well as to the endgame Infinite mode.
Already have a Godly? Work towards either Karumi or Ancient Vampire to finish off your main team. However, if you do have space then invest in support units such as Pucci and Irwin.
Just remember: tier lists are decision guides; how you want to play takes priority. Try a few combinations until you discover what’s best for you.
The meta keeps evolving. Keep this guide bookmarked and return after every update for the current standings.
